Information If you'd like to use IRC to access this room... Available Servers: irc.darkmyst.org Channel: #bobandgeorge Rules 1) Obey the Ops. The ops will generally let you get away with things that would get you kicked or banned from other channels or chat rooms. However, if an op tells you to stop doing something, even if you're not specifically breaking one of these following rules, obey him or her. If you respect the ops, they'll respect you back. Ops are designated with a "@". 2) No trolling, flooding, spamming, porn or warez links, harassing users, etc. Now this one is just common sense. Doing these things are annoying and disrupt the chat, and generally make you hated. If you do not know if you are trolling or not, ask an op/half-op, though generally people will make you aware of this before you get a chance to ask. Basically, don't be annoying to the other chatters. 3) Keep scripts to a minimum. Scripts are allowed, but no script, be it MP3, Windows Uptime, or general fun, should be used more than once every 15 seconds. Even then it gets excessive. If an op/half-op tells you to stop using a script or turn it off, do so. 4) Role Playing. Many of the chatters in the main room pretend they are themselves characters of their devising, though often the main room is really just for discussion of the comic. Just remember, even if you're a Maverick Reploid bent on universal destruction, you still have to follow the chat rules. 5) Discipline. If you misbehave, you will be warned. Depending on the type of your behavior, you may only get one warning before you're "kicked" out of the room. Upon kicking, you can usually immediately re-enter the room, so there is no lasting effect of your kick, except that everyone knows you were kicked and why. If you continue to refuse to respect the ops/half-ops and/or the rules, you may be "banned", which means you will be unable to re-enter the room for certain length of time, dependent on your behavior. Bans can last from several hours to several days and an attempt to re-enter the room through subversive means will add a day to your ban. 6) Do not pester the ops just to pester them. 7.) Although previously stated in rule #2, it deserves a second mention; Hentai/ecchi/porn will not be tolerated in any form, posted links, spamming, trolling, in the main channel. You will recieve one warning. Please bear in mind that chatters as young as 11-13 frequent the channel, and appropriate behavior and content should be maintained at all times. 8.) Due to the incredible influx of new regulars and chatters into the chatroom, a few additional rules need to be listed. Fighting is not tolerated in the main channel. With chatters numbering in excess of forty to seventy at a time, a channel-wide fight scroll makes the experience far less fun for everyone involved. Please don't fight. If you feel you must, give #bngfightclub a try. 9.) Even though the character known as "Ran" is killed frequently in the subcomics and comics as a running gag, please do not kill Ran in the chat room. Remember, although you may be new and think it funny, we've all seen it in excess of a thousand times, especially Ran. Be kind. 10.) Read the FAQ. All email addresses and possible sprite links, or comic-helping links are listed there. If you have a question, please look for the answer before coming into the room to ask. 11.) Above all, enjoy your time spent there. Most of the regulars are funny, and playful. Please keep your sense of humor with you at all times and if you become offended because you're being treated like a "newbie", quit acting like one. Bebbies. 12.) For the love of Lenin, it's spelled YOU. Y-O-U. "U" is always wrong. 13.) For clarification, the following sites contain content that rule 7 bans. This is by no means a comprehensive list; indeed, it is not even a start. However, the following links are popular to link to but will instantly net you a ban (mentioned by "name" instead of linked for obvious reasons):
14.) No clones. This means one connection per person, not per computer, in the room at any one time. Even if it is from two different locations (E.g. Home and work) it will not be allowed. Violations will be warned, then all but one connection will be forcefully removed. Repeated cloning may result in a ban. 15.) If you are trusted as a temporary Operator, you are held responsible for discharging that responsibility. Should you choose to op someone else, you will also be responsible for their actions. Furthermore, having a @ by your name does not make you immune to the rules, only responsible for enforcing them. 16.) Asking to be kicked will result in your request being granted plus a ban. We aim to please. 17.) Claiming you are about to kill yourself and other forms of attention whoring rarely if ever get the response you wish for. Don't. 18.) No posting about or linking to Roms. Yes, if they didn't exist sprite comics would be a lot harder to make, but still, please don't. 19.) Excessive caps, bad grammar, and bold/underlined/reversed text annoy the living shit out of Airi (and everyone else.) Please refrain from using them under penalty of much pain. 19a.) Color, bold, underlined, and reversed text is stripped from messages sent to channel. Don't bother trying. 19b.) Don't sing "the party hard song". 20.) Don't tell Rick that AYB is dead. It would break his heart. 21.) No use of /sound more than once a minute or two times per half hour. |
