Since the Author had already put on a helmet, I decided to keep it on him for the rest of the storyline. So the the punchline is supposed to be from the Author himself. I mean, when does the regular Author ever help people? Sure, he resurrected Dr. Light and he redirected that one portal, but just think of all the pain and suffering he's caused on the characters, not to mention the readers. However, it makes sense as well in the context of the Helmeted Author, as though he's indicating he hasn't been around long and hasn't ever helped anyone. But even taken as its original meaning, there is definitely something of a meaner attitude associated with this Author with a helmet when compared to his usual helmetless self. I was planning on basing it on that Wily Beer in his hand. You never know, the Author might be a surly drunk. (Which I suppose is ironic, since I'm usually a pretty happy drunk myself.)
