Clearly Wave Man didn't look at the plan close enough if he thought his robo-sharks would survive the plan. Some readers were surprised, since it does look like Alternate Mega Man has been killed. Most of the readers knew that had to be a trick, and the more observant noticed a semi-transparent hand grapping Alternate Mega Man in the first panel.
