I was going with the idea that the axe embedded in Mega Man's blaster messed up his power settings and switched on his Plant Man abilities. Nonetheless, given the number of Robot Masters he's already killed, it's a little silly that Plant Man's are the first he actually absorbed. But then, that wouldn't be the first stupid thing about the way Mega Man's absorbing abilities actually work.
