Mega Man's line about the Blue Fairy is a direct allusion to A.I., which itself is an allusion to Pinnochio. Personally, I thought A.I. was a decent enough movie, but I really think they should've ended it with the robot kid at the bottom of the ocean. The whole thing with the aliens/future robots just seemed like it came out of nowhere and pretty much ruined the movie for me. That is just about the fakest blood I have ever seen, and I work with sprites.
