I'm not sure if Nate was supposed to be there spying on Dr. Wily for Dr. Light or Proto Man, or if Nate just routinely hangs out at Dr. Wily's to check up on him for his own purposes. Either way, I had some vague idea of Nate being particularly important to this little subplot that didn't go anywhere. Luckily, in the end I was able to use Nate's presence at Dr. Wily's fortress as an excellent link between this storyline and the "Attack of Mega Man" storyline, especially in explaining how Nate was so well prepared for the attack.
