I worked really hard to make that grin in the last panel as creepy as possible. Normally when I modified sprites, I had a rule that any alterations had to be a 2x2 pixel block, so the modification would look the same even if the sprite was shrunk to its original size (as the standard sprite in my comic is enlarged 200%). For minor facial expressions, such as the widening of eyes, I might break that rule. The creepy smile was an extreme example of this, but I think it was worth it. Continuing from my collection of quip "art" pieces, I thought I'd do so action pieces. Pretty much I was just looking through the Power Battles and Power Fighters sprite sheets looking for cool action poses that I could put together.
