Keeping track of what's really going on in this storyline, in light of what you find out later, is a little difficult. But since this has all taken place after George's inadvertant trip further into the past and his destruction of Dr. Wily's fortress, which took place near the beginning of the previous storyline, Bass has probably already been informed about everything that's going on, so he's really here to play along.
