As we've seen in the past, when George gets really angry, he's damn near unstoppable, assuming his powers work. I'm not sure what the readers thought was going on, but it's worth noting that if you look closely at the effect of his powers in the third panel, you can see the space background bleeding through. Also, I love Ran's cameo.
