After some thought, I realized that maybe the Author had shown up to help Proto Man and Mega Man with the Yellow Demon. It might make sense that he would want to help his two main characters with a villain that they seem to having some difficulty with. All I had to do was make it seem like that was my intention all along.

To help it along, I used a joke I'd used before with the Author, when he resurrected Dr. Light. Unfortunately, the pointing sprite still sucks.
