In the last two panels on the top and the first two at the bottom the sky has gotten darker, presumably due to clouds where the lightning is being produced. My guess is that George could produce the lightning himself, but it's easier if he induces it in the sky instead. Man, that's some pretty crappy lightning. I mean, the effect is nice, but the lightning itself is crap.
