As I had already introduced both Bob and George into the sprite comic, it only made sense to try incorporating some of the other hand-drawn characters as well. The first one I tried was Nate, but I didn't want him to just be another Mega Man or Proto Man recolor, nor could I introduce him the same way I did Bob or George. Resurrecting the Yellow Demon seemed like a decent way to do it. Now, one of the defining features of the hand-drawn Nate character was a huge set of glasses. In the original drawings, in fact, each lens was almost larger than his head. When I decided to merge the Yellow Demon with his character, I knew it would have to have large glasses, even if it didn't really make any sense in context. I mean, hell, since when has anything making sense ever stopped me from doing something?
