I was a little worried that the readers wouldn't be able to follow the connection between "N4-T3" and "Nate", so I had George point it out, which explains why that link seems not only a little forced, but also awfully convenient for the naming process. It had been a while since the glasses had been brought up, so I thought I'd have George mention them as well. As I've said, the real reason for him wearing glasses is that the original hand-drawn character wore gigantic glasses, though since that didn't seem like a very useful in-comic solution, I knew I'd have to come up with something else.
