The Next Generation | A Voice From the Future |

If there is one rule in the comic, it should be to never, ever say things can't get any worse, because the Author will find some way to make it worse. X is clearly challenging the Author to find some way to make this situation even more embarrassing, and the way I decided to take him up on his challenge was to pull some temporal strings and have his best friend from the future show up to share in his humiliation. In reality, ever since I introduced X at the beginning of the Megaman 2 storylines, the readers had been clammering for Zero to show up. I kept putting them off, mostly because I had no good reason for Zero to visit. It kind of made sense for X to be in the comic, what with the time travel and everything, but why would Zero be there? As you can see, I finally gave in and had Zero show up, if for no other reason than to annoy X. And because I had nothing better to do. And for the thinly veiled (and not-so-thinly veiled) gay jokes. |
