Mike's line in the second panel is a fan favorite. Some readers have actually started a 500-item list describing just what the various settings might be. Now, let me tell you about Chadling. Given that I had just introduced two fan-based characters into the comic, I figured it would only be fair to include at least one quasi-based on one of my real-life friends. So I chose the friend that I thought would best fit in the comic, and named this new character after him. However, I have no idea why I decided to make him a purple version of Slash Man, other than I like the Wolverine claws. I'd point out, however, that picking Slash Man was probably a bad idea, given that his sprite sheet is rather limited, much like X. But hey, at least he's not another frickin' Megaman recolor, right?
