I like the idea that Proto Man is left speechless by Mega Man's stupidity. It takes a special level of moron to do that. The source of this comic's title is a little weird. When I was in second grade, we had to memorize a kid-friendly version of "Sweet Betsy from Pike". The scene in this comic reminded me of the verse where Betsy breaks down in the desert. In the version I learned, it was "poor Ike" that responded to her, and his situation reminded me of Proto Man's, hence the title. Enough people emailed me asking why I hadn't had any Helmeted Author Quips for the last few days, I felt obligated to have Helmut reappear and berate them. The simple truth is that the quips were merely a way to take up the white space that would appear under my blurb when numerous fancomics and subcomics were updating. When not that many hosted comics were updating, I didn't need to fill the white space and didn't have a quip.
