The problem with having a hundred foot tall Purple Demon in the comic is that it can kill everyone far too quickly. I needed some reason for Chadling to rebel against Mynd, and the idea that Mynd's "Jedi" powers don't work when Chadling's in demon form seemed as good a reason as any. So why did Chadling just crush Nate? I'm going to go with some sort of residual control. And, of course, Chadling's line in the third panel is an allusion to Watto's line in Star Wars: Episode I. It didn't help that at the time I was driving a small pickup truck that was absolutely terrible in the snow. |
