Ever since Nate was first introduced, his glasses have been an object of interest. The Author told George that Nate's glasses serve two purposes. First, they correct for Nate's near-sightedness, and considering the size of the eyes behind them, that's pretty understandable. Second, they're supposed to keep Nate from returning to his former Yellow Demon ways and trying to kill them all, so it was supposed to be a very bad thing if Nate's glasses got broken. On a completely unrelated note, what the hell is Mynd holding onto in the last two panels? This is, of course, a quote from Spaceballs. Many people felt the need to email me to let me know that...
