This is probably the largest jump in continuity since the beginning of the "Just Another Day" storyline. Oh sure, there were probably some small skips after the second game, but who knows how much time passed between the previous comic and this one. Certainly long enough for the Helmeted Author to capture the real Mega Man and take his place. Of course, no one knew that at the time, even me, so much like Just Another Day, this was originally supposed to be just another silly storyline before someone else showed up to try to kill everyone. I didn't really know where to go with the comic after I finished up the previous storyline, so I just went with the first thing that popped into my head.
