Oh god, the temporal burp. Probably the worst idea I had for the comic, both in terms of how much the fans cared and how much of my time it took up. But like so many stupid things, at the time I thought it was fairly clever.

Luckily, it had nothing to do with anything else in the comic, so this is the only place where it even needs to be talked about.

Okay, so, for those of you who've already read through the comic, at this point Bob and the Helmeted Author have already been out, doing their thing, going through time and making trouble. Presumably they've already kidnapped the Author in the three time periods. And if the Author died, or might die in the future, one might presume that the comic would start collapsing.

Running with this idea, I went back to the beginning of the comics archives and started wiping out the comics one by one. I think it was more complicated than that, with parts of comics getting wiped out bit by bit, but it was a pain in the ass to keep track of and keep doing night after night. Eventually the fans noticed, and there was all sorts of speculation about what it meant.

As I recall, I kept it up until the All Good Things... storyline officially started, but it was such a hassle and it really didn't affect anything, so what was the point? I think I was thinking about how webcomics can be more than just static images, and that affecting the site itself could be part of the experience, but in the end, I just don't think it was worth it.
