I used a shot of George's head to hide the reveal that he's missing his time machine until the last panel. Of course, being a comic, it's a little more difficult to hide that sort of thing, but I think it worked in this case, since a lot of readers didn't notice that George was wearing his usual outfit again and not the time machine. I think many readers had gotten so used to George wearing the time machine that they'd stopped noticing it, so they didn't notice when it was gone.
