I suppose the point of this comic is to highlight the double-edged sword that is science, mostly by highlighting some of Dr. Light's achievements and mistakes. Just like how exploration of nuclear physics gave us both nuclear power and nuclear bombs, Dr. Light is both the world's greatest roboticist and a giant dumbass. I suppose such things can be said of any genius, but Dr. Light really is the epitome of the absent-minded professor. Oh, and I really like having Dr. Light mutter about ungrateful robots, be they from the future or not.
