In the first panel, Mega Man is referring to a previous experience with the Author. It's a shame Mega Man hasn't figured out that no self-respecting alien would ever want his brain.

You know, this might be the first time I've done the mysterious voice from off-screen trick. It's particularly useful when I can think of a good punchline to finish up the comic, but I want to give the reader something to look forward to the following day. In this case, I was hoping the audience would incorrectly guess that the voice belonged to X, as it had been foreshadowed that he would be coming to help Mega Man. Though, since Dr. Wily hasn't seen X before, how could he recognize him? Well, either way, I was hoping the readers would be surprised when the speaker turned out to be someone they weren't expecting.

Now that I think about it, the whole comic is pretty much just me trying to mislead readers, isn't it?
