The Second Megaman Game | X Saves the Day |

So even though I misdirected the audience with Crash Man, I still wanted to bring X into the battle, and having him show up to save Mega Man because Mega Man's blaster is too weak to destroy Dr. Wily's hologram seemed like a good opportunity. I was betting the readers didn't think I'd bring someone in to save Mega Man again. Of course, I'm only assuming that X's blaster is significantly more powerful than Mega Man's, but I believe that's a correct assumption considering how much more powerful X is supposed to be over Dr. Light's first generation of robots. By the way, I never did much care for that X's blaster shot effect in the third panel. It just seems messy, but I was still trying to do the visual effects without using lens flares as some sort of parallel to the 8-bit graphics of the storyline, so no lens flares or nice effects (with apparent exception of Dr. Wily's eye lasers...). Instead, it just looks like one big blur filter over a white and blue sprite. Bleh. |
