Now that I had taken care of the eight Robot Masters, I wanted to take a moment to see what X and Dr. Light were up to before tackling the confrontation with Dr. Wily. Further, I had decided I wanted X to take part in that confrontation, but as he was already supposed to be helping Dr. Light clean up the lab, I needed to get him out of that obligation, which was pretty easy, as you see above. And the rest of this part of the storyline was needed to establish why X was going to help Mega Man, seeing as how everyone had already decided he wouldn't interfere in an attempt to preserve the timeline. By the way, for those of you who've already read through the archives, I find it strangely coincidental that what X has just done is pretty much exactly what Dr. Light originally designed him for. It wasn't intentional, but funny how things like that work out, huh?
