There was quite a bit of speculation about what had happened to Mega Man after he was tossed through the portal. Presumably Mynd went back through the portal after him, rather than risk a confronation with Bate, but then what? Did the two of them decide to work together and start working on a bigger plot, or did they immediately start fighting? The answer was never given directly, but I assume after getting tossed through the portal, Helmut dropped the disguise, as he didn't really need it anymore. Whether or not Mynd then tried to attack a fully-powered Helmeted Author, I can't say, but given what Helmut-Bob tells him in a later comic, Helmut obviously spared his life, probably with the expectation that a favor would be required later. As for Mega Man, Nate's prediction was correct.
