Given that we'd just had the annual villain who tries to kill everyone, that meant it was time for another Megaman game parody storyline. Since the fourth game was about Dr. Cossack, it seemed like an ideal opportunity to officially introduce Ran into the comic, with the real Ran's approval, of course. Readers who didn't bother to read any of the other comics hosted on the site were introduced to Ran during Mega Man's encounter with Needle Man, but this was the first time he'd been around for "real". By the way, given the fact that Ran got his revenge on Mega Man during the Fourth Megaman Game storyline, why would he still be wanting his revenge now? I mean, it makes sense since this is the second time we've seen him, but in the continuity of the comic, it really shouldn't. Maybe he's just still angry.
