This was a crack at the Soviet Union's voting system. You see, they wanted to preserve the illusion that people had a choice, so people could still go out and vote. The catch was that there was only one political party, so they only had one choice on the ballot. But they still were allowed to vote, so it totally wasn't a dictatorship or anything. Honest. Of course, that might just be my recollection of the American propaganda machine telling me how much better America was than the Soviet Union, so I could be completely wrong about that. |
