A Bad Time | 88 Miles Per Hour in 1.6 Seconds |

This comic is full of Back to the Future references. We've got 88 miles per hour in the title, the three sonic booms, and the twin fire trails seen when the DeLorean departs. In this case, they're most reminiscent of the curled fire trails left behind at the end of Back to the Future II when Dr. Brown is struck by lightning and inadvertently sent back to 1885, where the car apparently reached 88 mph by spinning on its axis. Though, now that I think about it, I'm not sure the three sonic booms is appropriate. Didn't it only have a single boom on departure, while the three booms indicate an arrival? And I think I heard somewhere that as the movies progressed, the timing between each sonic boom got shorter... I am such a geek. |
