From Mike's perspective, I'd guess he wasn't expecting much of a rescue. Assuming Mynd had succeeded, everyone else would be dead, and Mynd isn't the sort to care about the flunkies that fail him. And even if Mynd had lost, the few survivors probably wouldn't be too keen to rescue one of Mynd's minions.

As for bothering to look for Mike's corpse, in a universe where your defeated enemies typically explode in balls of energy, it may simply not have occurred to anyone to look for a dead body.
