While the exterior of the Met Demon is impenetrable, apparently shooting it from the inside with a fully charged super blaster (courtesy of their mother) is enough to punch through it. Readers might still be trying to figure out whether this was really George or actually Helmut in disguise, so I thought a clever heroic "sacrifice " might be enough to convince readers that this really was George.
