Maybe Ran's made from a mixture of concrete and lead. That would explain his relative cheapness, his extreme mass, why his body turns gray after he's died, and how he's able to shield people during a nuclear explosion. I'm pretty sure that's Proto Man and not Dark Man, since Proto Man is supposed to rescue Kalinka in this game, which is how Dr. Wily learns of Proto Man's true intentions and turns against him in the next game. As for Dark Man, I have no idea where he is, but my guess would be that it involves alcohol and possibly unconsciousness.
