Since this is the third joke concerning Mega Man being unable to guess the imposter's identity, I suppose by the rule of three mentioned earlier, this is the last time I can do it. Which is probably good, because I'm not sure how many more ways I could have revealed his identity to the audience without coming right out and saying it.
One of the reasons I didn't come right out and say it earlier is that, in my experience, people prefer to figure things out for themselves, rather than just being told the answer. I believe it's a more enjoyable learning process, and helps the student/reader remember things better. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work, and no matter how many hints you give, no matter how hard to try to lead them to the answer, they just can't figure it out on their own. Which is always a little disheartening.
So this comic was essentially my last chance to let the readers guess before I'd just go ahead and tell the answer in the next comic. And even thing, I recall getting a few emails asking who this character was and why his hair was sproingy like that. I suppose it's possible, that in any large enough group... either that or they were messing with me.
