Given the relationship between the characters and the Author, you would think they'd be a little more curious about him. Not only does he apparently create the comics, but he also takes on humanoid form and interacts directly with the characters in them. If God popped down to Earth to hang out with you every once in a while, don't you think you might be the least bit curious about how he spends the rest of his time? So, why don't the characters care? This comic offers one explanation.

Of course, since the Author technically controls their every thought and action, maybe they aren't curious about him simply because he doesn't want them to be. But then, what does it say about the Author when one of his characters does become curious about him? Is it the natural progression of characters following their own whims? Or just narcissism?

And if I've not mentioned it before, having the Author speak from above the panels is an idea I stole from Real Life by Greg Dean.
