The Introduction of Bob | Just a Man and His Blaster |
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
As we've already seen, Proto Man is rather protective of his blaster and anyone who tries to take it from him tends to die. How Bob knows this isn't exactly clear, but he's always more than willing to take advantage of any perceived weaknesses. Perhaps Bob has just dealt with enough people that are affectionate toward their sidearms to recognize that trait in Proto Man. Nevertheless, I'm pretty I personally got this idea from John Crichton's affection toward his pulse pistol in Farscape. In fact, had I ever got around to Proto Man naming his blaster, it would probably have been named Winona as well. By the way, even though it's never been explicitly stated in the comic, Bob's blaster is not your run-of-the-mill, state-of-the-art plasma rifle/blaster. It was actually a present from his mother, probably to help him on his trip to the Megaman Universe, along with his plastic-wrap shielding. And while you don't see his blaster until several years after seeing his shielding, George got both presents as well. |
