Doesn't it always seem like there's that one guy in any story with a violent confrontation that at least tries to get both sides talking before the bullets start flying? That guy usually fails, and usually ends up being one of the first to die once the bullets start flying, but at least he tried diplomacy first. In this story, that guy is the Author, and at least he's smart enough to get out of the way before the violence really starts. And it gives me a chance to show off that flying sprite again!
